Hungary

Like most European countries, Hungary has a long history of change depending on which European dynasty was in control of the area at the time. From the times of being a part of the Roman Empire, Hapsburg Empire, to Austria-Hungary, now it has become a high-income country with beautiful scenery, historical buildings and a vibrant economy. And it has one of our favorite things - great wine in the Tokay region. We’ve taken many travels, but one of the most unique things we have experienced was the day-trip to Tokay. The guides played a snipet of the Hungarian national anthem while we were driving to the highway, and a mile later the driver veered across the painted boundary on the right-hand side of the lane and the tires played the Hungarian national anthem due to precise cuttings in the road. Fascinating.
